Please join us in supporting AB 1511 (Leno), the Stronger Families for California Act. AB 1511 will establish a statewide public education campaign providing parents and parenting adults with the communication skills necessary to talk with youth about sexual health in order to promote well-informed decision making, effectively reducing teen pregnancies and sexually transmitted diseases (STDs). Through AB 1511, California can empower families to talk openly and honestly about sexuality in order to promote positive health outcomes among young people. This is particularly critical in communities that experience disproportionate health disparities and barriers to health care access.
AB 1511 will be heard before the Assembly Health Committee on Tuesday, April 10th. Please fax your letter of support to the Assembly Health Committee by 5:00 p.m. Thursday, April 5th, and help spread the word! Please see the action alert and sample letter of support (below and attached) for further details on AB 1511 and how you can take action.
