United Nations, Port-au-Prince — During a visit that concluded today, Inés Alberdi, Executive Director of the UN Development Fund for Women (UNIFEM, part of UN Women) and UNIFEM Goodwill Ambassador Nicole Kidman have called for the urgent need to address gender-based violence among affected populations, and stressed the critical need to support long-term initiatives that advance women’s livelihoods as part of the rebuilding efforts. In Haiti, Ms. Alberdi and Ms. Kidman met with survivors of violence living in a temporary camp, with Haitian and UN officials, and with national non-governmental organizations working to support women’s needs in recovery efforts after the devastating earthquake.
"During this trip I saw first-hand how this humanitarian disaster is impacting women and girls. The lack of shelter and security makes them more vulnerable to violence, in particular sexual violence," UNIFEM Goodwill Ambassador Nicole Kidman said. “Yet, I have also seen the determination and resilience of women and men in Haiti to rebuild their country. Today I visited a temporary shelter for women and girls who experienced sexual violence or are at risk, where women leaders work to make sure there are medical and legal services as well as counselling and livelihood training. This needs to be done on a large scale and they need our support."

La reputación erótica del país atrae a un tipo de turista indeseable.
Gran parte de la demanda de los turistas que viajan a Brasil en busca de relaciones sexuales la están satisfaciendo niños, reveló una investigación de la BBC.
Su pequeño bikini deja al aire su exigua contextura. No parece mayor de 13 años y es una de las decenas de niñas que se pasean en la calle en busca de clientes, bajo el sol abrasador de la mediatarde.
La mayoría proviene de las poblaciones marginales de los alrededores, las favelas.
Mientras estaciono el coche, la niña da unos pasos de baile provocativos para atraer mi atención.
"Hola, me llamo Clemie, ¿quieres programa?", pregunta. "Programa" es la palabra en clave para referirse a una hora de actividad sexual.
Clemie solicita menos de cinco dólares por sus servicios. Una mujer mayor se me acerca y se presenta como su madre.
"Usted puede elegir otras dos chicas, de la misma edad que mi hija, el mismo precio", explica

ANTE LA ABERRANTE CANTIDAD DE FALLOS SAP
En un articulo publicado en el blog infanciaprimero y en la Red No a la Trata en Marzo del 2009 advertimos de 1500 expedientes en Argentina en peligro de caer en fallos SAP.
Tod@s sabemos que el SAP es falso y su origen hoy dia. Hay videos en YOUTUBE, grupos en facebook, informacion por doquier.
Se sabe que no esta aceptado por la OMS ( WHO) ni por organizacion medica, psiquiatrica y/o psicologica alguna, sin embargo ante Juzgados y Tribunales ignorantes, corruptos y otros calificativos que no quisiera mencionar nos vemos todos los dias desde el año pasado ante espantosos fallos SAP.
Hemos visto casos donde se ha utilizado hasta infanteria para llevarse una niña de cinco años aduciendo que la madre es "alienadora" y fue entregada al padre que posee una causa penal por compra - venta de material pornografico infantil y tanto a la madre como a ONGs de defensa de los niñ@s se nos ha impuesto una perimetral de 500 metros.
Otro caso en la Provincia de Buenos Aires donde a la madre tambien le pusieron cinco informes SAP y luego vino un fallo SAP donde obligaron a revincular a una niña varias veces violada por su padre y en esta revinculacion esta pequeña de solo tres años volvio a ser violada.
La semana pasada el Juzgado Civil 23 actuo por inaudita parte y lanzo un fallo SAP contra Roxana Corradini siendo que el padre de los niños tiene una causa penal por infraccion a la ley 25087 y otros delitos y se le impuso una perimetral de 300 metros.
Esto esta pasando en Argentina, en España, en Chile. Y otros paises latinoamericanos que debido a la ignorancia del ingles no han leido ampliamente a Richard A. Gardner ( 1937-2003) Ya que en los paises de habla inglesa se sabe perfectamente que es el PAS ( Parental Alienation Syndrome) que la Junta de Vizcaya ( España ) fallo que es un falso sindrome pro pedofilo y que es violencia de genero contra las mujeres.
Apoyandonos en el Proyecto de la Juez Carmen Argibay y del Juez Baltazar Garzon que la violencia de genero debe ser considera delito de lesa humanidad y dado que Alerta Vida ONG viene pidiendo en el mundo que los delitos contra la integridad sexual en menores sean delitos de lesa humanidad solicitamos a todas las personas de bien, fundaciones, ONGs, Tercer Sector, Gobierno que proclamen una adhesion que la utilizacion y mencion del SAP es delito de lesa humanidad porque esta cometiendo un grave daño a escala mundial contra niñ@s y mujeres.

América Latina - Violencia sexual, grave problema de salud pública
La violencia sexual es un grave problema de salud pública y de violación a los derechos humanos en toda la región de Latinoamérica y el Caribe, como se afirma en el informe "Violencia Sexual en Latinoamérica y el Caribe: Análisis de Datos Secundarios", presentado el 28 de junio en México. La doctora Raffaela Schiavon Ermani, directora de Ipas México, informó que el documento sistematiza 200 informes y encuestas regionales sobre la violencia sexual ejercida contra mujeres, desde la adolescencia.
El informe fue elaborado por el investigador Juan Manuel Contreras, del Centro Internacional para la Investigación Sobre las Mujeres, con apoyo de la Organización Panamericana de la Salud, el Fondo de Población de las Naciones Unidas, la Sexual Violence Research Initiative, así como Ipas México.
Raffaela Schiavon precisó que, si bien el documento no presenta datos nuevos, fue preparado por un grupo de investigadoras e investigadores que sistematizaron la información ubicando las prevalencias, consecuencias y las intervenciones que en los países se han generado en justicia, salud y organizaciones de la sociedad civil.
"Es un documento muy valioso que simplifica los hallazgos de investigaciones en la región, con una amplia bibliografía, por lo que para quienes trabajan en contra este flagelo será un instrumento e insumo muy importante", subrayó la directora de Ipas México.
En él se indica que la violencia sexual es un grave problema omnipresente en la región, además que la evidencia indica que las mujeres corren mayor riesgo de sufrir violencia sexual perpetrada por sus parejas.

Last week’s ruling by the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit in Reedy v. Evanson, reviving a Butler County rape survivor’s civil lawsuit against the police officers who wrongly arrested and jailed her for false reporting, was gratifying to women’s advocates for several reasons.
Most importantly, the Court of Appeals showed the face of justice to a young woman who had been viciously attacked not just by her assailant but also by a hostile criminal justice system. The lengthy precedential appellate opinion [PDF] exposed and dismantled the sexist assumptions the police used against her: real victims fight back to the utmost, even with a gun to the head; real victims accept psychological counseling; real victims are polite and compliant even when falsely accused; real victims are so shattered they couldn’t possibly remember the exact time of the rape; real victims don’t use profane slang in describing the obscenities committed upon them. The court ruling almost could have been written by the sexual assault experts who joined the Women’s Law Project’s amicus brief in the case, so impassioned was the opinion and so grounded in the realities of women’s experience. The situational irony here is rich: the victim who wasn’t believed, in part because she didn’t fight hard enough, just smashed her tormentors to smithereens.

Podría llegar a la CoIDH otro caso de feminicidio en Juárez

México, D.F 6 ago 10 (CIMAC).- La Comisión Interamericana de Derechos Humanos (CIDH), emplazó al Estado mexicano para que en dos meses responda por el feminicidio de Paloma Angélica Escobar Ledezma, de 16 años de edad, quien desapareció el 2 de marzo de 2002 en Ciudad Juárez, Chihuahua y fue hallada muerta 27 días después en la zona conocida como “El Campo Algodonero”.
De acuerdo con una notificación de la CIDH, fechada el 2 de agosto de 2010, de la que Cimacnoticias tiene copia, tras examinar el caso de Paloma la Comisión aprobó un informe de fondo y efectuó sus recomendaciones al Estado mexicano de conformidad con lo establecido en la Convención Americana sobre Derechos Humanos.
La notificación indica que el informe ya fue entregado al Estado Mexicano, por lo que le solicitó que dentro de un período de dos meses informe sobre las medidas adoptadas para dar cumplimiento a las recomendaciones de la Comisión.
En la copia de la notificación que Cimacnoticias tiene en su poder, la CIDH también solicitó a los peticionarios Norma Ledezma Ortega, madre de la víctima; Justicia para Nuestras Hijas; el Centro por la Justicia y el Derechos Internacional (CEJIL), así como la Comisión Mexicana de Defensa y Promoción de los Derechos Humanos (CMDPDH), presentar en un plazo de un mes, su posición respecto del sometimiento del caso a la Corte Interamericana de Derechos Humanos (CoIDH).

Medidas urgentes para proteger la vida de la defensora de Derechos Humanos, Gladys Lanza Ochoa
AmecoPress/CIMAC.- Ante las recientes amenazas de muerte y persecución vía electrónica en contra de la defensora de Derechos Humanos (DH) Gladys Lanza Ochoa, Amnistía Internacional (AI) y la organización Feministas en Resistencia, lanzaron una llamada al gobierno de Honduras para tomar las medidas necesarias que garanticen su vida.
En una acción urgente emitida hoy, AI solicita al gobierno de Porfirio Lobo Sosa, se lleve a cabo una investigación independiente, exhaustiva e imparcial, sobre las amenazas y el acoso contra la Coordinadora Nacional del Movimiento de Mujeres por la paz “Visitación Padilla”, que han alcanzado niveles de peligrosidad ascendente que evidencian un posible ataque con daños irreparables.
De igual manera AI, solicita al gobierno hondureño cumpla plenamente la orden dictada por la Comisión Interamericana de Derechos Humanos (CIDH) el 24 de julio de 2009, en la que se le otorgaron medidas cautelares a Lanza Ochoa, las cuales fueron consensuadas con el Estado de Honduras el 5 de octubre de 2009.

Utah Supreme Court Affirms Forced Marriage and Rape of 14-Year-Old Girl

On July 27, the Utah Supreme Court overturned Warren Jeffs' conviction of accomplice to rape. Jeffs, the so-called "prophet" and leader of the Fundamentalist Church of Jesus Christ of the Latter-Day Saints (FLDS), had been convicted of accomplice to rape when he orchestrated the marriage of 14-year-old Elissa Wall to her first cousin, 19-year-old Allen Steed. Wall was terrified of the marriage and begged Jeffs to cancel it. He refused. He also refused to help her after she was married, when she pleaded with him to release her from her husband, who had been raping and abusing her repeatedly during their marriage. While Jeffs' guilt in this case appears undeniable, the Utah Supreme Court claimed that because the prosecution could not prove that Jeffs intended for Steed to rape Wall, his conviction should be overturned.
This ruling by the Utah Supreme Court gives no justice to Wall, who endured years of brainwashing under Jeffs and then years of abuse under her husband. But the Utah Supreme Court's decision also denies justice to women all over Utah and ultimately all over the country. If the state can say that a man who forced a girl into marriage against her will is not an accomplice to rape, then the state essentially finds it acceptable for men to tell women what to do with their bodies, choices and lives, stripping them of all autonomy. The state of Utah already heavily restricts women's rights in a variety of ways. It puts the "rights" of unborn fetuses ahead of women's rights to privacy and control of their bodies, and it also bans and restricts so many types of abortion care that abortion services are difficult, if not impossible, to obtain there. Utah also limits women's right to choose how to live their own lives, particularly concerning whom to marry. While Jeffs can coerce a girl into marriage against her will, same-sex adults who have spent years in loving, committed relationships cannot marry in Utah or most other states. In fact, the Utah Supreme Court's decision to overturn Jeffs' conviction reflects the state's, and the country at large's, failure to recognize a woman's body and life as her own.
On a more positive note, though Jeffs' conviction has been overturned, he most likely will have a new trial in Utah. Even if he doesn't, he's facing charges of bigamy, sexual assault of a child and aggravated assault in Texas. The FBI is also investigating him for sexual assault of a minor and conspiring to sexually assault a minor, and he has a federal indictment against him for unlawful flight to avoid prosecution. If Utah doesn't eventually bring this man to justice, hopefully Texas or the federal government will.

Craig Newmark was all over Twitter on Friday, as he is most days, yakking about the Android operating system for mobile phones, re-tweeting about Bart Simpson in summer school, reminding his 24,000 followers to vote to end world poverty. He engaged with friends and strangers alike.

Newmark is the founder of the worldwide online bazaar Craigslist. MC is a 17-year-old girl who says she was repeatedly sold for sex through ads on Craigslist. In open letters published as newspaper ads, she has beseeched Newmark to shut down the site's lucrative "adult services" section, which law-enforcement officials and advocates say facilitates prostitution and child trafficking.
"I was first forced into prostitution when I was 11 years old by a 28-year-old man," she wrote. "I am not an exception."
